Organizational Structure
Board of Directors
Our community is governed by a Board of Directors, consisting of seven members: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and three Directors. The Board is assisted by Governance Committees, Service Committees, and Work Groups.
The mission of the Board of Directors is to:- Enhance the quality of residents’ lives.
- Maintain and improve the Association’s physical assets and amenities, cost-effectively and prudently, that benefit the greater good of the community.
- Offer an array of clubs to join, entertainment to enjoy, and fitness activities to help keep us healthy.
- Provide for the well-being of our community through consistent and equitable enforcement of our governing documents and the law.
Self-Management
To fulfill the Association’s mission and set the desired standard of excellence for active adult communities, the Board of Directors has chosen to use the self-managed policy governance organizational model for large community associations, which means:
- The seven members of the Board govern the Association and create its policies.
- The SCA staff, directed by a General Manager, works onsite, implements the Board’s policies, and administers the Association’s day-to-day operations.
Refer to the SCA website for information about the current Board members and to review the governing documents of the Association.
Governance Committees, Service Groups, and Work Groups
Governance Committees, including the Architectural Review, Covenants, Finance, and Community Lifestyle, work under the direction of the Board of Directors. Service Groups such as the Community Service, Emergency Preparedness, Community Patrol, and Neighborhood Watch provide services to SCA residents. Staff members collaborate with various Work Groups, including Media Communications and Facilities and Landscaping, implement policies and carry out day-to-day responsibilities. Details about these committees and work groups are available in the Spirit magazine.
